Ron Miller has an article about the contrast between attitudes on taxation and government’s role in our lives and the economy. He estimates that the $787 billion stimulus package would have been the equivalent of giving each person in the United States almost $3k each.

Not only is their knowledge, intellect, station or fame useless, they have set themselves apart from their fellow man, and help won’t be there when they need it.”
