Remember Citadel LB Marc Buoniconti?
I remember Marc Buoniconti getting paralyzed playing football. I vaguely knew that he and his Dad had worked in trying to find a cure. Sports Illustrated has an article about what happened in the aftermath to the Buonicontis and the running back, Herman Jacobs, that Buoniconti tackled when he broke his neck.
The story is inspiring and, actually, hard-to-believe. Jacobs had even tackled another player, Henry Mull, in junior high that left Mull paralyzed for two days. The article weaves all of these elements together and is worth the few minutes to read. Go here to check it out.
